A man shot and killed an intruder and was himself wounded in the stomach in his Blairgowrie, Johannesburg home on Monday morning, paramedics said.
The man, his wife and two small children were asleep when he was woken by noises shortly before 2am, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Mark Stokoe.
"[He] found the intruders already inside his house. During an altercation shots were fired. One suspect was shot and killed on the scene. The homeowner was shot in the abdomen and was taken to Milpark Hospital in a critical condition." - Sapa
