I am currently renting out a cottage on my property. I have an advert in the paper and received a call from a 'shane du preez'. He and a friend came to view the cottage, and told me they would take it. They took my bank details and promised to put the deposit into my bank account immediately. Naturally they gave me all their details aswell. During this process 'shane' had disappeared to use the loo in the house. Once they had gone I realised that my wallet was missing from my room. All the details they had given me where incorrect. This is a warning to people with show houses, or renting rooms on their property. These guys are +/- 40, the one is of medium height, stocky, has a crew cut of greying hair, 2 earings and speaks with an english/ afrikaans accent. The other is very tall, has long brown hair and wears a lot of black. Also has a english/ afrikaans accent. I get the impression that they do this sort of thing for a living. Both men were very pale and had brown eyes. So I have learnt my lesson and wont be quite so friendly to arty types any longer.... really a pity. And luckily there was not much money in my wallet, and the cards were easily cancelled. Just somewhat embarrassed that I could be fooled so easily.

Hi Peta Thank you for letting us know... these days you just have to be so careful... I have warned our agents to be careful. We will be putting them onto the EBlockWatch system so that if they feel unconfortable at a show day or appointment they can hit their "panic button" and the office will know there is trouble and where the agent is...
Recently, I have seen CCTV footage from a service station, of where 5 African Males try to card swap ladies (and sometimes men) at the ATM. On a few occasions they have been lucky and got away with the card.... it happens so quickly, that by the time you realise that your card is gone, it is too late to phone the bank to cancel because they have drawn your money at an ATM up the road...
