We have received verbal notification to go ahead with the closing off of Delta park. This will include erecting palisade fencing at the bottom of Bantam Drive on the corner that leads to the environmental centre and also to close off the entrance to the park that will run past the houses on Hillcrest an Wendy drives (at the corner of Bantam and Blairgowrie). Turnstiles will be open from the morning and locked at night. The turnstile will allow pedestrians and dogs to get through but will prove difficult for criminals to get TV’s and large items through…. Maybe in time we can get cameras?? Any residents with contacts? Make it your New Years resolution to get involved both the security and cleanliness of the park! Please add your comments and thoughts and also register your email address on the mailing list set up especially for this project. ;D brac.3r.co.za/cgi-bin/brac/mojo/mojo.cgi?f=list&l=bracparks

That sounds great! Its been a long time coming. I do have contacts for cameras. The only thing is maintenance and server space. I live in Bantam and wouldnt mind helping with surveilance.

Hi G, As per our small meeting tonight, we are going to work as a team and get the Delta cleaned up!! Cameras seem a very good idea. Could you possibly find out how much you would be able to get cameras, fencing etc and then at the community get together we will discuss.
Thank you for all your help!! Keep visiting the forum!

Im able to get cameras and surveilance at a good price. It doesnt have to be through me though. The place to get from is Eagle Technologies. Their website is www.eagle.co.za. Anything to do with surveilance they will have. I also have some knowledge of these systems and could install them if need be. Im offering my residence for a surveilance point. ie putting up cameras in my property to view the entrances to the park and to blairgowrie drive. Lets see what we can agree to on our Bantam gathering!

The news of fencing Delta Park at Bantam road is a good one.
What about cleaning and fencing the small section at the bottom of Dalmeny road (near Penelope) and erecting a turnstile here as well?
We should aim for a clean safe park like that of New York's Central Park - where our children can play safely.
